Who can enrol on the ProQual Level 5 Diploma?
You must be aged 18 or over and hold an Ofqual-regulated Level 4 Certificate or Diploma in Aesthetic Practice, or an equivalent qualification. You also need a current qualifying First Aid or Basic Life Support qualification. Eclipse reviews your qualifications when you enquire.
Is this a regulated qualification or a CPD course?
The ProQual Level 5 Diploma in Aesthetic Practice is an Ofqual-regulated qualification on the Regulated Qualifications Framework. Its qualification number is 610/5201/2 and the awarding organisation is ProQual AB. It is not a CPD course.
What does the diploma cover?
All five mandatory units must be completed: Infection Control and Prevention for Cosmetic, Aesthetic and Needle Related Treatments; Professional Practice for Aesthetic Practitioners; Anatomy and Physiology for Advanced Aesthetic Practice; Principles and Practice of Microneedling Treatments; and Principles and Practice of Chemical Peel Treatments.
How is the programme delivered?
Theory and learning materials are delivered through Google Classroom, alongside independent study, practical evidence and formal assessment. You build a portfolio showing that you meet the required knowledge and practical competencies.
Will I need additional treatment training?
Eclipse reviews your qualifications and experience on enrolment. If you completed the Qualifi Level 4 pathway with Eclipse, you should already have trained in microneedling and chemical peels. Where additional training is required, Eclipse can provide one microneedling day and one chemical peel day. Ask the team to confirm your training plan and any associated fees.
How is practical competency assessed?
You must demonstrate microneedling competency across multiple treatments, including face and body, and chemical peel competency across multiple treatments. Your assessor guides you through the required evidence. Simply attending training does not achieve this competency-based qualification.
Do I need to arrange models?
Ideally provide suitable models where required for practical assessment. This helps you demonstrate competence across a range of clients. If you struggle to arrange a suitable model, speak to Eclipse for help where possible.
Can previous training or experience be recognised?
Your previous qualifications, experience and evidence can be reviewed for Recognition of Prior Learning where appropriate. Any reduction in required Eclipse training or course fees is considered individually at Eclipse’s discretion. You must still meet every assessment requirement of the regulated qualification.
Is Basic Life Support included?
A current qualifying First Aid or Basic Life Support qualification is required for entry. BLS training is included if you are completing Level 5 as part of an Eclipse Qualify package. For standalone learners who need BLS training, Eclipse offers it separately for £199; it is not included in the £2,000 standalone diploma price.
How long do I have to complete Level 5?
You have a strict maximum of 12 months to complete the Level 5 Diploma. Remain active during your registration period. If you become dormant for six months, a re-enrolment fee may apply before you can continue.
What assessment and certification are required?
Produce a portfolio demonstrating achievement of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria across all five mandatory units. Assessment is Pass / Fail. Eclipse assesses and internally quality assures your work, with external quality assurance by ProQual. Successful achievement of all requirements leads to certification for the full ProQual Level 5 Diploma in Aesthetic Practice.
What support is available during the qualification?
The Eclipse team provides guidance with theory, your portfolio, practical evidence and assessment preparation throughout your Level 5 programme. Additional practical training or support needs are identified with you to help you prepare for completion within your 12-month registration period.
