Your Level 7 curriculum
Every mandatory unit is studied and assessed at Level 7. Your programme combines theory, independent study, portfolio development, practical evidence and formal assessment.
Consultation and planning
Mandatory unit: Consultation for Individualised Facial Aesthetic Treatments. Develop individualised consultations, client suitability checks and analysis of aesthetic and medical history. Explore risks, scope of practice and treatment planning, including ageing facial characteristics and morphology, appropriate options and realistic outcomes.
Psychology in facial aesthetics
Mandatory unit: Psychological Aspects of Facial Aesthetics. Explore self-image, social and cultural perceptions of beauty, body dissatisfaction and the psychological impact of procedures. Develop screening approaches and your understanding of vulnerable clients and body dysmorphic disorders.
Ethics and professionalism
Mandatory unit: Values, Ethics and Professionalism in Aesthetic Practice. Study relevant legislation, professional standards, prescribing and medicines, teamwork, leadership and responsibility. Professional behaviours include commitment, compassion, honesty, integrity and respect. Studying prescribing responsibilities does not confer prescribing authority.
Botulinum toxin
Mandatory unit: Aesthetic Injectable Therapies for Facial Treatments with Botulinum Toxin. Study protocols, dosage calculations, products, pharmacology, reconstitution, storage, facial anatomy, planning, placement, continuing care and undesired outcomes. Demonstrate safe administration in accordance with an individualised treatment and prescribed treatment plan.
Temporary dermal fillers
Mandatory unit: Aesthetic Injectable Therapies for Facial Treatments with Temporary Dermal Fillers. Study product selection and viscosity, facial anatomy, placement, safety, planning, records, continuing care and undesired outcomes. Theory considers temporary and permanent fillers; practical competency is assessed in temporary dermal fillers using both needle and cannula techniques.
Managing complications
Mandatory unit: Management of Complications for Aesthetic Practice. Explore toxin and filler risks and adverse effects, emergency management, preventative protocols and post-procedure monitoring. Develop your understanding of clinical audit and reporting safety concerns and adverse incidents.

Who can enrol on this diploma?
You must be aged 18 or over and either hold the ProQual Level 5 or Level 6 Diploma in Aesthetic Practice, or an equivalent qualification, alongside the additional qualification and first aid requirements set by ProQual; or be a fully qualified and registered nurse or doctor. Eclipse carries out an initial assessment and reviews your qualifications before enrolment.
How is Level 7 delivered and assessed?
Theory and learning materials are delivered through Google Classroom. You combine independent study, portfolio development and practical evidence with formal assessment. Evidence may include assignments, observations, professional discussions, questioning, witness testimony, reflection and appropriate Recognition of Prior Learning. Assessment is Pass / Fail.
What practical observations are required?
Consultation competence must be observed at least ten times, including at least five botulinum toxin treatments and five temporary dermal filler treatments. Dermal filler competency requires at least six observations using needle and four using cannula. These are assessment observations, not a promise of ten unique models or a fixed number of training days. Your assessor guides the evidence requirements.
Do I need to arrange models?
Learners should ideally provide suitable models where required for practical assessment. Appropriate models are important to completing your qualification. If you have difficulty arranging a model, contact Eclipse; the team will help where possible.
Can my previous training count?
Eclipse can review your existing qualifications and evidence for Recognition of Prior Learning where appropriate. Suitable evidence may contribute to your portfolio, but you must still demonstrate the full Level 7 assessment criteria.
How long does the qualification take?
Contact Eclipse to discuss the programme schedule, practical assessments and completion arrangements before enrolling. Completion requires achievement of all six units and practical competency; attending training days alone does not complete the qualification.
What certification will I receive?
Once you successfully achieve all qualification requirements, you receive certification for the full ProQual Level 7 Diploma in Aesthetic Practice, qualification number 610/4479/9. ProQual AB is the awarding organisation and Ofqual is the regulator. Eclipse internally assesses and quality assures your work, with external quality assurance by ProQual.
Is Level 6 compulsory in the Qualify pathway?
Level 6 is an optional additional qualification covering advanced treatments including skin boosters and fat dissolving. It is not an essential stage of the Eclipse Qualify Pathway. Level 7 entry requirements still apply; ask Eclipse to review your existing qualifications and explain your progression.
